Drew McIntyre made a shocking announcement this week on WWE RAW, affirming that he was done with WWE and quitting the Stamford-based promotion. This announcement stunned everyone, leaving many confused about whether the Scottish star's quitting was genuine or part of a storyline.

However, WWE has recently dropped a major hint that seemingly confirms that the former world champion is still part of World Wrestling Entertainment. This potential hint came from a recent video uploaded on WWE's official YouTube channel featuring Drew McIntyre.

The video is titled Drew McIntyre’s Heartbreaking Homecoming: Clash at the Castle 2024 Vlog. In this digital content, WWE shared behind-the-scenes footage of McIntyre’s visit to his hometown in Scotland, which ended in heartbreak when he suffered a loss to Damian Priest.

So, if the 39-year-old star was genuinely leaving WWE, it is unlikely that the promotion would feature him so prominently on their social media platforms. Also, in case a superstar truly quits WWE, the decision to promote them on social media lies with the company. Featuring Drew McIntyre in their recent content suggests a positive sign that his quitting on Monday Night RAW is indeed part of a storyline.

It remains to be seen how things will unfold in the forthcoming weeks after the Scottish Superstar's departure from the red brand, which now seems to be a work.

When is Drew McIntyre expected to make his return?

Drew McIntyre's hiatus from WWE might not last long, as Triple H could have The Scottish Warrior make an unexpected appearance in the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown.

This belief stems from the announcement that CM Punk will be appearing in this week's edition of the blue brand, which is set to take place in Punk's hometown, Chicago. It is possible that when The Voice of the Voiceless provides an update on his in-ring return, McIntyre could launch a vicious assault on him, brutalizing him in front of his hometown crowd.

Given that Punk embarrassed McIntyre in front of the Scotland crowd, Drew might seek revenge by embarrassing Punk in front of the Chicago audience.

In addition, if The Second City Saint confirms he is cleared to return to the squared circle, a match between these two could be set for the upcoming Money in the Bank Premium Live Event.

However, if Drew does not make an appearance on the upcoming WWE SmackDown, he might return when CM Punk receives a significant chance to win something of importance. An entry into the Money in the Bank Ladder Match could be the ideal chance. So, in this case, the 39-year-old star could then cost Punk that opportunity to exact his revenge.
