At this year's Clash at the Castle, Damian Priest will defend his World Heavyweight Title against Drew McIntyre. The premium live event is scheduled to take place at OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland on June 15, 2024.

McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania XL. However, his reign was shortlived as Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to dethrone The Scottish Warrior within minutes of his victory. While many expect the 38-year-old to defeat Priest on his home turf, a massive spoiler indicates that may not be the case.

Madison Square Garden's official Instagram page recently advertised a match between Damian Priest and Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship on the June 28, 2024 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. If this is a confirmed match, McIntyre will not dethrone Priest on June 15. However, the listing could change in the coming weeks if WWE decides to put the gold on the Scotsman.

The June 28, 2024, edition of Friday Night SmackDown could feature a World Heavyweight Title match regardless of the outcome of McIntyre vs. Priest at Clash at the Castle.

A match card is always subject to change, and the company can alter the lineup for the Friday night show if McIntyre defeats The Judgment Day member in Glasgow. Hence, just because a World Heavyweight Championship has been announced in advance, it doesn't mean the superstars in the match may not change leading up to the event.

The company could even add Drew McIntyre to the upcoming match between Jey Uso and Damian Priest to make it a Triple Threat showdown.

A World Heavyweight Title match at Clash at the Castle is Drew McIntyre's "dream scenario"

The Scottish Warrior hails from Scotland, and this is the first time WWE is organizing a premium live event in the country. Many local fans will undoubtedly attend Clash at the Castle to watch McIntyre put on a memorable performance.

In a chat with Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Drew McIntyre revealed how competing for the World Heavyweight Title in Scotland was his "dream scenario."

"I would love to have that title match if he’s still the champion in Scotland and finally have that moment with the title and actually keep the title. But I could never have imagined it could potentially be in Glasgow. So that’s my dream scenario." [H/T: WrestleTalk]

Besides The Judgment Day, CM Punk is a major threat to McIntyre's title aspirations. WWE has been teasing a feud between the Scotsman and Punk for a while, and one can expect the latter to be present at Clash at the Castle, to potentially influence the outcome of the championship contest.
