Rey Mysterio has had a legendary career in WWE and was inducted into the company's Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 39 weekend. Dominik Mysterio was still in a storyline relationship with Rhea Ripley at the time, and the couple walked out of the veteran's speech at the Hall of Fame ceremony.
Mysterio is currently a part of the Latino World Order on WWE RAW. The 49-year-old has accomplished a lot throughout his career in the ring and could be planning on retiring in the next few years.
Listed below are five WWE stars who could retire Rey Mysterio.
#5. Dominik Mysterio could retire Rey Mysterio from WWE
Rey Mysterio has defeated Dominik Mysterio at the past two WWE WrestleMania events. The veteran defeated Dirty Dom in a singles match at WrestleMania 39 and teamed up with Andrade to defeat his son and Santos Escobar at The Show of Shows earlier this year.
Mysterio has already suggested an interesting retirement match against his son down the line. The Judgment Day star could potentially retire his father at a future WrestleMania and pick up the most monumental victory of his career so far.
#4. Andrade could retire the legend
Andrade wrapped up his tenure in All Elite Wrestling last year with a loss to Miro at World's End 2023. He returned to the company during the Men's Royal Rumble match earlier this year and is currently on SmackDown.
Rey Mysterio and Andrade teamed up at WrestleMania XL and got some help from NFL stars Lane Johnson and Jason Kelce during their match against Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar. Mysterio could approach Andrade and ask him to be his final opponent down the line.
#3. Dragon Lee could betray his stablemate
Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee are stablemates in the Latino World Order. The two stars competed in the tournament to determine The Judgment Day's next challengers for the World Tag Team Championship but lost in the finals on the October 28 edition of WWE RAW.
Dragon Lee is a former North American Champion in NXT but has not had the same success on the main roster so far. Lee could become jealous of Mysterio's connection to the crowd and decide to betray him down the line. Dragon Lee may then perhaps defeat Mysterio in his final match to give his career a major boost.
#2. Batista could return to retire Mysterio
Rey Mysterio and Batista are good friends in real life but have portrayed bitter enemies on WWE television in the past. The Animal has not been in action since he was defeated by Triple H in a No Holds Barred Match at WrestleMania 35.
Batista has found success in Hollywood following his time in the ring but could feel compelled to return for one final match against Mysterio. The match could take place at a future WrestleMania, and Batista could finally be inducted into the Hall of Fame as well.
#1. Gunther could be Rey Mysterio's final opponent
Gunther has established himself as one of the most feared stars in the company and will be defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Damian Priest at WWE Survivor Series. The Ring General also had a confrontation with Goldberg last month at WWE Bad Blood and could be the 57-year-old's final opponent.
If The Ring General does retire Goldberg next year, he could make it his mission to end another WCW legend's career. Rey Mysterio is a former five-time WCW Cruiserweight Champion, and Gunther may decide to target him in the future.
