Drew McIntyre is set to face his arch-rival CM Punk at WWE SummerSlam on August 3. This week on RAW, Adam Pearce announced that Seth Rollins will be the special guest referee for the match.

McIntyre has been doing everything possible to get under Punk's skin, from jabs during promos to social media activity, taking shots at The Best in the World. However, Drew has outdone himself with his now-deleted Twitter post. He posted a picture of himself with AEW star Jack Perry, who was involved in the backstage incident with CM Punk at AEW All In last year, which resulted in Punk getting fired. Fans have since been wondering if this post could lead to him being removed from the match at SummerSlam. The answer is no.

According to the latest reports, there is no backstage heat in WWE regarding Drew McIntyre's post. Moreover, it was reported that Punk and Drew are working closely and that referencing Punk's controversies in AEW was greenlit before going into the feud.

Ex-WWE host predicts Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk's match outcome at SummerSlam

Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk is arguably the most anticipated match set to take place at SummerSlam, with fans divided over who will emerge victorious.

According to the former host of RAW Talk, Matt Camp, special guest referee Seth Rollins will cost CM Punk the win. He mentioned that if WWE decides to pursue a multi-match feud, it makes sense for Drew, as the heel, to secure the first win.

"Seth cost Punk, doesn't mean to [but] he does. Drew gets the win. The heel should win the first one. It's typically how it goes. If you're gonna do more than one, the heel wins the first one. Drew is 'technically' the heel. And you can spin that off, you know. We don't go right back to Punk and Drew. Maybe there's a Punk-Seth match in there first. Maybe there's a Triple Threat Match in there first. Maybe Bad Blood gets us back to Drew and Punk. That's a possibility," Camp said. [41:05-41:37]
