Drew McIntyre is a Scottish Professional Wrestler. He was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, on June 6, 1985, and his real name is Andrew McLean Galloway. Currently signed to WWE, McIntyre has previously also wrestled for TNA Wrestling, Insane Championship Wrestling, British Championship Wrestling, World Wrestling Network, Evolve Wrestling, Irish Whip Wrestling, Ohio Valley Wrestling and more. He previously had an interest in Football and Crime stories before he began training for pro wrestling at the age of 15.

He signed with WWE in 2007 and was nicknamed The Chosen One in 2009, being promoted as a future World Champion by Vince McMahon himself. He won the Intercontinental Championship, joined 3MB, and was released from his contract in 2014. He wrestled with Impact Wrestling and on the independent circuit for around three years before returning to WWE and has since then become one of its biggest stars and has won the World Championship. Besides that, he has also won the Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, NXT Championship, and Tag Team Championship, and has defeated Brock Lesnar cleanly.

Drew McIntyre has won two and lost one match at SummerSlam. He has only competed in singles matches at SummerSlam so far. Despite having made his debut in WWE in 2007, McIntyre’s first match at SummerSlam was in 2020. The Scottish Psychopath has yet to partake in the main event of SummerSlam.

SummerSlam 2023 - Against Gunther

Drew McIntyre failed to win the Intercontinental Championship from Gunther at WrestleMania 39 in a triple-threat match also involving Sheamus. He then went on a hiatus and earned himself another title shot upon returning. He faced Gunther at SummerSlam 2024, in a match that lasted about fourteen minutes. The match was evenly fought but McIntyre eventually lost to then-reigning champion.

SummerSlam 2021 - Against Jinder Mahal

Upon losing his WWE Championship in 2021, McIntyre participated in the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match but failed to win it due to interference from Indus Sher and McIntyre’s former friend Jinder Mahal. This led to a singles match at SummerSlam between the former 3MB mates and former world champions. It took McIntyre less than five minutes to make good of The Modern Day Maharaja.

Drew McIntyre won the WWE Championship for the first time at WrestleMania 36 against Brock Lesnar. In later months, he defended the gold against Big Show, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, and Dolph Ziggler. Meanwhile, Randy Orton was attacking former WWE legends one by one. The paths of the two stars eventually collided, leading to a match at SummerSlam 2020. The match lasted over twenty minutes and the champion eventually retained the belt. However, this reign would eventually go on to be ended at the hands of The Viper.
