Early Match Card predictions for Royal Rumble’14

1. Goldust and Cody Rhodes v/s The Americans

If we look at the Tag Team championship scenario, there currently a number well performing teams which can rightfully fight for the titles. These teams include the Usos, The Americans and The team of Big Show and Rey Mysterio. The Shield and the Wyatt family too are strong contenders but looking at the present storyline, it is very rare that either of these two will fight for the championship. Among the other teams, The Americans tend to be the strongest among the three and looking at their current gimmick, we could see this match entering the New Year at Royal Rumble.

2. Big E Langston v/s Dolph Ziggler

This has happened before and this could happen again. The newcomer takes on his mentor. Big E Langston has come a long way from being at the ringside for Ziggler to winning the Intercontinental Championship. Also, with the Ziggler-Fandango rivalry fading away, we could see Ziggler trying to get his hands on the intercontinental championship and a storyline following the rivalry between the show-off and the powerhouse Langston. This, if happens, will be an interesting match to witness.

3. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan v/s DX

This match could bring back Triple H and Shawn Michaels together into the ring for one last time. Taking into consideration the recent events taking place between these guys and especially the Raw before TLC, where CM Punk put his hands on HHH and was put down by HBK and even Daniel Bryan was involved. Approaching the Royal Rumble, the storyline for the Wyatt family and Daniel Brian could fade away. Same goes for the Shield and CM Punk. We could see this match at the Royal Rumble and witness something amazing.

4. Randy Orton v/s John Cena – An I-Quit Match

After witnessing one of the most brutal matches in the history of the WWE, it was clearly visible as to what the title meant to both these men. Orton was clever enough with the handcuffs and came out as the better man. Using the handcuffs was totally fair and considering some of Cena’s previous matches, he has done similar things to break the man down. Don’t forget Batista being duck taped to the ropes and forced to tap out. Talking of the past, we have seen John Cena in a number of brutal matches against numerous WWE legends. Usually these matches brought an end to the rivalry for at least some time. The match which comes to our mind is the I-Quit match between Cena and JBL. The rivalry between the two has been carried on since the very beginning of their careers but the Championship can be decide in a typical fashion of an I- Quit match which can be seen at Royal Rumble.

5. The Shield v/s The Wyatt Family

This match has been in the making since the very beginning of these two sides. Both sides have shown their dominance in the WWE and there have been instances we have seen hints of these two sides clashing in the future. With the rivalries between the above sides and Punk and Bryan individually coming to a fading point, we can expect these two teams to clash and find out who is the best, The Dominator.
