WWE has already begun to lay groundwork for arguably the biggest event before WrestleMania and after two unimpressive pay-per-views and an average Hell in a Cell, the company will be looking to pick itself up at Boston in November.
Put in some intriguing storylines into the mix and what does we have in our hand? Sky high expectations for the Thanksgiving traditional Survivor Series. The creative team will be having a tough time living up to the expectations but if they manage to raise the correct questions and answers some with a pinch of salt, it could be a Survivor Series worth recalling. Though it’s a bit early to predict here’s a look at the possible match card with respect to the recent developments in the storylines.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella vs. Brie Bella (Divas title)
The company wants AJ to turn face in order to cash in on her merchandise and at the same time there are rumours about the Bella twins splitting. Both could happen at the survivor series with a triple threat match for the title. The twins could team up to knock AJ out of the match before turning against each other. The handicap situation could build the sympathy of the fans for AJ and at the same time will get the title off her well-toned waist, which will be a good thing for the division.
Winner: Nikki or Brie Bella
Rey Mysterio vs. Curtis Axel (Intercontinental Championship)
The last time we saw Mysterio, he was doing a very good job in the Spanish announce table at Hell in a Cell but he does not belong there does he? With the downfall of Paul Heyman against CM Punk, Axel is the out there like a duck in the desert without much of a storyline to pick up. Combine these two and Mysterio will have a title run to look forward to if the match manages to materialize. Quality time with a returning veteran could prove priceless for Axel as he would get a much better push than his previous ones.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
Traditional Survivor Series match: Team Langston (Big E. Langston, R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, The Great Khali) vs. Team Ambrose (The Shield, Ryback, Fandango)
Now this is going to serve as a teaser for main event that is to come. The fans will be given some high octane mid card reminder of what the traditional elimination match is all about. The feud between Langston and Dean Ambrose only started in HIAC and still has a lot of fuel left in it. Adding the others into the scene will be a good move as it could give them some excellent pay-per-view time and at the same time will fire up the fans for the rest of the show.
Winner: Team Langston
The Real Americans vs. The Usos (No: 1 contenders match)
The Real Americans managed to pull out a rabbit from the hat when they faced the Rhodes Brothers on Raw and will be looking to substantiate themselves as title contenders at Survivor Series. What will be better than taking out one of the most rated tag teams in the division in the process? The prospect of seeing some great technical tag team wrestling in the squared circle is more than enough to make this one a great build up for the eventual showdown between the Real Americans and the Rhodes brothers.
Winners: The Real Americans
John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Damien Sandow (World Heavyweight Championship) with a potential Mark Henry return
Many say that John Cena is entitled with the mission of saving the World Heavyweight Championship and a high profile triple threat match in a major pay-per-view will boost his chances of doing so. Sandow cashed in the Money in the Bank and failed miserably in winning the title while Del Rio only got one shot at Cena and he managed to lose that in style. So since both Del Rio and Sandow deserve another go at it, the triple threat will be an ideal matchup for Cena to emerge victorious. But wait, that will be so obvious, so add in a returning Mark Henry for the final punch.
The fans only got to see one match in the Cena-Henry feud and with Henry’s new menacing style; it might be the right time to reignite the rivalry.
Winner: John Cena
Triple H’s team (Wyatt family, Randy Orton and Kane) vs. Big Show’s team (Big Show, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Rhodes Brothers) with Shawn Michaels in their corner
On many grounds this will be one of the best Survivor Series match in the recent times. Big Show has emerged like a Stone Cold Steve Austin like figure among the fans at the moment and what Triple H will do is give him a chance to get his job back. If Big Show’s team wins he gets his job back else its back to making chaos in the company. Bray Wyatt’s implications that “The Devil made me do it” and Kane’s affiliation to the authority makes the team for Triple H. Big Show’s team will have Bryan, Punk and the Rhodes brothers who has been on the receiving side of Triple H’s reign. After HIAC, Shawn Michaels will be taking someone’s side before the Survivor Series and it’s more likely to be Daniel Bryan’s since it makes a possibility of a Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels showdown in the future. And like last time around what will be a better way to end the pay-per-view than with a sweet chin music, this time on Triple H rather than Daniel Bryan.
Winner: Team Big Show
