It has barely been a month since WrestleMania 33, but it’s time to start looking towards the future. It’s time to start imagining how next year’s version of the entertainment extravaganza will look. This is what makes the event so special; it’s the speculation and rumours months in advance that build the aura of the show. An aura that cannot be replicated by any other sport, show or brand in the world.
The Show of Shows is where we get to see matches we never thought possible, those once in a lifetime bouts that define the existence of a generation. We hope that WrestleMania 34 will be no different and judging by the early rumours, it could be one to remember.
Here are some early WrestleMania 34 card predictions.
#5 Charlotte vs. Asuka
This match could have been billed as streak vs. streak, but since the WWE dropped the ball with Charlotte, this can just be a dream match instead. After moving to SmackDown Live, Charlotte is undoubtedly the premiere female athlete on Tuesday nights. She has competition, but she doesn’t have any rivals. This is where Asuka steps in.

As the most dominant NXT Women’s Champion in history, the Japanese star is destined to face the daughter of the 2-time hall of famer. Let’s face it, the WWE has pretty much exhausted every interesting women’s match up on the main roster, and they need fresh faces & feuds desperately. For the WWE Universe to be interested in the women’s division again, they need a legit contender like Asuka to threaten the reign of Charlotte at WrestleMania 34.
#4 John Cena vs. Samoa Joe
As the WWE’s resident destroyer, it’s only right that Samoa Joe gets the opportunity to lock horns with the face of the company, John Cena. With Cena clearly angling for a more Hollywood-based career, it’s safe to say that the 16-time world champion would put over Samoa Joe at WrestleMania, giving him the credibility he deserves & needs.

Funnily enough, this feud runs deeper than most people think. John Cena & Samoa Joe used to train together way back in Ultimate Pro Wrestling, a camp affiliated with the WWE’s developmental system. Despite starting together, the two have been on different career paths, and that eighteen-year journey can now finally culminate in a match at WrestleMania 34. What a story.
#3 Finn Balor vs. Triple H
In his past four WrestleMania appearances, Triple H has put over talent in three of them. The cerebral assassin has used his dwindling star power to help secure the future of the product; now it’s time to put over another young star. After being called up through the WWE draft in July, Balor’s career has been on somewhat of a rollercoaster. He was the inaugural Universal Champion, plus he pinned Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns in the space of a week. However, an arm injury derailed his momentum and cost him a prominent position at WrestleMania 33.
For the wrongs of the past to be righted, Balor must defeat the 14-time World Champion at his first ever WrestleMania. A win against a man who has wrestled at 21 ‘Manias would elevate Balor to a level he never knew existed. It’d give the casual audience a chance to familiarise themselves with the seasoned Indy wrestler and understand how powerful the Demon really is.
#2 AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
This is the match the whole WWE Universe is holding their breath for. Even fans who have never seen these two incredible athletes go toe to toe in Japan are eagerly anticipating their fist match in a WWE ring. As the two most gifted wrestlers in the company, AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura deserve the opportunity to show the whole world what they can do in the squared circle.
Over the past year, Styles has been the MVP of WWE programming. Now, it’s time for him to help Nakamura reach those heights. This match would showcase wrestling in its purest form infused with the excitement & drama of WWE booking. It’d surely be a moment in history for the ages.
#1 Main Event: Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar
It’s better we just accept this now rather than resent it closer to the event. And after the last outing these two had, there’s no reason as to why we should be upset about this anyway. It’s rumoured that Vince McMahon has his heart set on Roman Reigns finally toppling the beast on the Grandest Stage of Them All. This would give him THREE successive high-profile wins at the event and firmly solidify him as the face of the company.
