The latest episode of WWE NXT concluded with former AEW star Ethan Page standing tall in the ring after decimating the current NXT Champion, Trick Williams. However, it's worth noting that Page's former foe, Matt Hardy could potentially follow him to NXT.

Page initially signed with AEW in 2021, but he never had a consistent run on the company's weekly programming. Later on in the second half of 2023, he was transferred to Ring of Honor. Recently, his profile was removed from both companies' websites, leading to speculation that his contract had ended. This made his move to WWE a natural decision to many fans, considering his potential.

Despite being the side of some inconsistent booking, one of the more significant feuds Ethan Page was involved in during his time at the Jacksonville-based promotion was with Matt Hardy. Hardy's contract with AEW also expired last month, and he has chosen not to renew it. Therefore, there is a possibility that fans could see Hardy return to the Stamford-based promotion sometime soon.

Matt Hardy has already hinted a return to WWE

There's speculation among fans that Matt Hardy, who previously formed a tag team with Bray Wyatt, could potentially make a return and join Uncle Howdy's faction. Hardy himself addressed this possibility in an interview with Cultaholic Wrestling earlier in the month, stating that anything is possible.

"I just have such a storied history with Windham Rotunda, Bray Wyatt, that I am obviously going to be in consideration for that. It's pro wrestling, you never say never," Hardy said.

At the conclusion of their feud in AEW, Matt Hardy's team secured a victory over The Firm, following which Hardy took ownership of Ethan Page's contract.

There is a slight possibility that WWE could capitalize on this dynamic and aim to reignite their rivalry on NXT. A seasoned veteran like Hardy could be a valuable asset for WWE by imparting his knowledge and experience to the up-and-coming talent in NXT.
