Often wrestling stories are predictable because they make sense. In contrast to Sgt. Slaughter coming out with RVD, this clever segment used the history of the legends involved. Ted DiBiase buying the 24/7 title was a great way to include the Million Dollar Man and the whole thing was a joy to watch. There may have been a few blank notes visible, but given this one took place live on the ramp, they can be forgiven.
#1 Drake Maverick (Second Time)
Waiting to see who was going to emerge from Ted DiBiase's limousine was one of the most exciting moments of the show. Following the sound of scuffling and a referee's count, Drake Maverick appeared with the title and seemed genuinely overjoyed to have won again.
Both Maverick and Truth sell the championship as if it really means something and as a result, it really means something to the fans. Plus, they create some very funny television. This was another fine example of the fun that can be had with WWE's most unique title. Here’s to many more 24/7 title shenanigans in the future.
