As talented as Nikki Cross is, I just don't think she is ready to be the new SmackDown Women's Champion yet. WWE has done a great job in building her and of course, she has held gold in the past with Alexa Bliss, but Bayley is doing such a great job that she should lose her title in a match that actually feels like a bigger deal. Maybe WWE will turn Sasha Banks babyface before SummerSlam and have the two former best friends put on a classic for the ages, during the show.
Female superstar says she inspired John Cena turning heel HERE
Nikki Cross, if she is to become a future WWE SmackDown Women's Champion should be crowned on a bigger stage like WrestleMania. It just won't make sense to have her become the face of the WWE SmackDown women's division at this time, in my opinion.
Unless, of course, the idea is to turn Alexa Bliss heel and have her take Nikki Cross on at SummerSlam 2020 in a battle of best friends.
