WWE RAW and SmackDown have several emerging talented tag teams, over the past few weeks, the company has teased splitting some teams soon. One of the teams who could be placed on different brands soon is The New Day's Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have been having a troubled time on WWE RAW recently courtesy of The Final Testament. Karrion Kross has been trying to drive The New Day duo away from each other for weeks now by any means necessary. However, it seems like he could be successful soon, especially with the presence of the Wyatt Sicks looming in the brand.
This week on RAW, The Final Testament used Xavier to distract Kofi during his match against Karrion, causing the latter to win. It's unlikely that this match will mark the end of their feud, which means there could be more time for The New Day duo to develop some problems.
In the coming weeks, Woods could fail to show support to Kingston again out of fear of the Wyatt Sicks. In a recent social media post, Xavier claimed he didn't want to show up on the Monday show due to the new group. If this continues, it could lead to Kofi being alone on the brand against The Final Testament.
Due to Xavier failing to appear on RAW, Kingston could betray his partner for abandoning him and request a transfer to SmackDown to give Woods the same treatment as leaving him alone on the Monday show. This way, their eventual singles feud could wait as they explore being solo stars again.
Wrestling legend believes The New Day is nearing its end in WWE
The New Day has been one of the most notable tag teams in WWE and has accomplished many things throughout the years. However, Konnan believes the group could be breaking up soon.
In a past episode of Keepin' It 100, the WCW legend noted that Kofi would sometimes talk over Woods and was confident that they would break up. However, he believed that they would eventually reunite.
"I don't know if you noticed, you know, [Kofi] Kingston kept kind of talking over [Xavier] Woods. They're breaking up for sure... looks like they're breaking up. [Kingston might end up with The Final Testament] Maybe... and then they'll come back together at the end," Konnan said.
It would be interesting to see if the company decides to split the fan-favorite tag team after nearly a decade run in WWE.
