Kevin Owens and Randy Orton teamed up during the season premiere of WWE SmackDown on the USA Network last week. They secured a victory over Austin Theory and Grayson Waller in a tag team match.

However, this might be one of the last times fans see Kevin Owens on SmackDown. Recent reports indicate that Owens' current contract is set to expire in January 2025, and while the company has reportedly offered him a new deal, he has yet to accept it. Given the uncertainty surrounding his contract situation, WWE may keep Owens off television until the Royal Rumble next year if he doesn't sign the new contract before that.

With Roman Reigns back on SmackDown and The Bloodline storyline set to feature prominently at the next few premium live events, the company may avoid using Owens for now.

Kevin Owens leaving WWE for AEW is a possibility, according to Jim Cornette

Legendary wrestling manager Jim Cornette recently discussed the possibility of Kevin Owens joining AEW once his WWE contract expires.

Speaking on Jim Cornette's The Experience podcast, he speculated about the significant amount of money Tony Khan might offer a superstar of Owens' caliber.

He mentioned that the former Universal Champion moving to AEW is a possibility, particularly to reunite with his old friends, The Young Bucks. Cornette suggested that Tony Khan could potentially offer a deal in the range of five to six million dollars to secure Owens' services.

"Is the offer going to be before or after the new TV deal is announced? Because that could play a part, you never know, in how much money Tony's throwing around, but with [Kevin] Owens being friends with the buckaroos [The Young Bucks] from way back. And yes, he is a guy that the WWE has been using on top, but you know where his mental sentiments lie with the indie-riffic crowd, and that's his brand of wrestling that he'd be doing if he had his druthers. So yeah, for five or six maybe," Cornette said.
