The Vaudevillains probably didn’t get the introduction that they would’ve wanted in the main roster. The team made their debut in SmackDown instead of Monday Night Raw and this apparently pointed out that WWE was simply willing to give them a chance, but not a big chance.
Despite the lack of limelight they got, the duo managed to create some buzz and went on to win their debut match in style. They have announced their arrival nevertheless and it is now time to take forward the storyline forward. Some good angles are what the Vaudevillains need at this moment and we are going to take a look at them.
The weekly invitation
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Keeping the Vaudevillains relevant week in and week out is a daunting task considering the start they had. From the looks of it, WWE is apparently going to feed them with random matches throughout the coming months and instead of doing so, WWE could set up an open challenge involving the tag team.
Each week, they could come out and give an open challenge to the tag teams. WWE could sign up independent tag teams for the same and it would benefit everyone. The new tag team will get a great exposure on live television when Vaudevillains will get a solid win and at the same time will flourish due to the surprise factor.
A feud with Social Outcasts
The Social Outcasts are slowly turning into a relevant tag team. Although they are more comic relief, the Outcasts do have a talented bunch of wrestlers. Once WWE finishes up with the Tag team championship tournament, they could easily pair up the Vaudevillains with the Social Outcasts for a feud.
It would be an entertaining feud for sure and capturing such positive attention from the WWE Universe is what the Vaudevillains need if they want to get over. They could move to something serious once this is wrapped up. But for a start, the Social Outcasts feud sounds great.
Bringing back the second tag team titles
The tag team division looks promising right now. With the likes of some new tag teams and the perfect blend of old ones, the division is rich and has enough fire power in it to hold another tag team championship just like WWE had during the brand split era. In fact, if WWE wants, they could execute a brand split just for the tag team division.
The Vaudevillains are championship material for sure but due to the heavy competition they have, they might not get to the titles with only one championship in place. However, with two tag team titles, Vaudevillains could taste some gold and be relevant at the same time.
Turning them into a stable
Just like tag teams, stables are also enjoying a good time on the current WWE roster. We have the likes of League of Nations, Wyatt Family, Social Outcasts, the New Day and we are seeing teasers of the Bullet Club coming in. So it wouldn’t be a bad idea if Vaudevillains gets some new members and turns into a stable.
There are some interesting candidates that could fit in, with Damien Sandow being the best choice. Sandow is not even seen on television these days and if he gets a makeover and joins the team, the popularity is going to benefit big time. Having an experienced and popular name like Sandow will take the team further.
The references
WWE is a wrestling promotion that feeds on its past glory. Although the company might not admit it, that is the truth. WrestleMania 32 was a major example. WWE had names like Shane McMahon and Triple H on top of the card and it is them that got the biggest pops of the night. This exposes the love that WWE fans have for the past stars.
And what Vaudevillains could do is: they could make references to Eddie Guerrero. The team has been drawing a comparison to Eddie Guerrero and Cesaro in terms of their looks and they could utilize this to get some leverage. Two new rookies comparing themselves to big names like Eddie and Cesaro is bound to get some heat and it could help them to establish themselves as a top heel tag team.
