Matt Hardy's in-ring future looks to be up in the air, and if he is unable to return to the ring, this would be an excellent way to keep him on our televisions.

Hardy has a history with the Cruiserweight title, having held the title in 2003 during his 'Mattitude Vol 1' years, and that could be something the WWE might like to play off.

Equally, the WWE always seemed hesitant to go all in on Hardy's Broken gimmick when he was in the ring, but they could give him much more creative control when he is playing an authority figure. The gimmick was also one of the most popular in recent memory and would no doubt help to boost 205 Live's poor viewership figures.
