WWE Superstars Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens are involved in a deeply personal feud right now. While The Prizefighter has already lost two championship matches to Rhodes, he has stolen and taken possession of the Winged Eagle title. Now, the two men will be facing each other for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a ladder match at the 2025 Royal Rumble. Here are three ways WWE can end this feud.
#3. Kevin Owens dethrones Cody Rhodes with The Rock’s help
While SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis had asked Kevin Owens to surrender the Winged Eagle title, Cody Rhodes insisted that KO keep it. He also challenged The Prizefighter to a ladder match with both the Winged Eagle and the Undisputed WWE Title on the line.

While Rhodes is confident that he will win, a ladder match brings in the no-disqualification rule, which would put him at a disadvantage. Moreover, there is a chance that The Rock may not have turned babyface after all and may not have ended his beef with The American Nightmare.
Thus, if Kevin Owens dethrones the world champ with The High Chief’s help, it could open the door for The Final Boss to face Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. With no title on the line, WWE will also be able to keep fans guessing the winner till the last second.
#2. Randy Orton gives Rhodes a friendly hand, then betrays him
Randy Orton has been away from television after Kevin Owens hit him with a Piledriver several weeks ago. The Apex Predator was taken away from the arena on a stretcher and was visibly in a lot of pain. When KO and Cody Rhodes collide at the Royal Rumble, The Viper could be healthy enough to make a return and interfere in the match.
Randy Orton could take his revenge on The Prizefighter and help The American Nightmare retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, he could also follow this up with an RKO out of nowhere on the champion, setting up a WrestleMania 41 clash with his former Legacy brother.
Notably, The Viper is actively looking for a singles title and had even challenged Gunther at Bash in Berlin in a losing effort. This would kickstart another big heel run for Orton.
#1. Kevin Owens relinquishes the Winged Eagle title and quits SmackDown forever
Kevin Owens brings out a highly emotional side of him each time he turns heel. The Prizefighter was a big ally of Cody Rhodes until the latter teamed up with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood, causing KO to lose control and attack him.
Despite having valid reasons for hating Roman Reigns and the people associated with him, Owens is still being seen as the bad guy by everyone. This also includes WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H as well as SmackDown’s General Manager Nick Aldis.
Thus, if the former Universal Champion loses the ladder match, he could give up the Winged Eagle title and could quit SmackDown forever. Moreover, Roman Reigns is back in power with the Ula Fala, his OG team, and his Wiseman Paul Heyman by his side.
Seeing as how Roman has not lost anything after years of villainous behavior on the blue brand, while Owens stands all alone, friendless, could be the final straw that breaks his back. This could finally push KO to leave the Friday night show. It would be interesting to see what lies in the future for Owens and Cody Rhodes.
