WWE has welcomed several TNA stars into the company this year after their recent partnership. However, one of its notable former champions might make a different move by permanently finding a home in the Stamford-based promotion in 2025.
The star in question is Josh Alexander, a two-time TNA World Champion, one-time Impact X Division Champion, and two-time Impact Tag team Champion. Although still signed with TNA, he is also active in the independent scene. However, he recently announced that his time in the indie scene is ending after revealing that he would no longer take bookings for them. Interestingly, his departure from the independent circuit is just in time to debut at an upcoming WWE Premium Live Event.
In a recent social media post, Josh Alexander shared he would no longer take indie dates and expressed his appreciation for the time in the scene for the past two decades. He ended his announcement by saying that his last show on the scene will be on January 11, 2025, at Prestige Wrestling's Roseland X. Interestingly, this is just a few weeks away from the 2025 Royal Rumble on February 1, 2025.

With this in mind, Josh may have decided to permanently sign with the Stamford-based promotion. Aside from the company's relationship with TNA, Josh also has a few friends on the roster. At the 2024 Money in the Bank event, Naomi posted a photo with him backstage.
Josh also teamed up with Ethan Page as The North from 2019 until 2021, the latter is a former NXT Champion. During their time as a team, they also faced Motor City Machine Guns, the current WWE Tag Team Champions.
Which former champion star does Josh Alexander want to face in WWE?
Several big names from Total Nonstop Action found a home in World Wrestling Entertainment, but the most notable one is AJ Styles. Due to The Phenomenal One's legacy in his former promotion, it's no wonder that Josh expressed interest in clashing with the former World Champion.
In a February 2023 Sportskeeda exclusive interview, Josh Alexander said he hopes to face AJ Styles someday. He shared that it would be interesting to see a match between the "old guard of TNA" against a different generation of the company.
"If you think of TNA, I think the first name that pops into your head is AJ Styles. I think soon, if not already, when you think of IMPACT Wrestling you might think of Josh Alexander. So I think that, that dream match of the old guard of TNA, AJ Styles, the one who took this company to heights that we've never seen before, against, you know, me; someone that's walking around this world with that championship, that IMPACT bumper sticker on my back, championing this company all over the place. That's a match I would love."
It will be interesting to see what is next for Josh Alexander, and it if will involve a move to WWE.
