The final WWE RAW episode of 2024 is set to be historic in multiple facets. Besides closing out main roster weekly programming for the year, it is set to conclude the red brand's 19-year run on the USA Network. When the new year rolls in, the longest-running weekly episodic television show will be on a new platform, with a new global partner, Netflix, and back to a three-hour runtime.
Of course, a lot has been made of the flagship show's debut on the streaming giant, but the final RAW of 2024 should be blockbuster in its own right. The show will set up January 6th's episode with as much hype and momentum as possible, making it a must-watch. What will Adam Pearce and his roster have in store for the millions watching to end an era?
Here are four things that could happen on the final WWE RAW of 2024
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
#4 Asuka returns to help Damage CTRL against Pure Fusion Collective on WWE RAW
Over the past few months, Damage CTRL has found itself in the crosshairs of Pure Fusion Collective on WWE RAW. The feud, which began over the Women's Tag Team Title, has continued into the tail end of 2024. The most recent episode of the red brand saw Kairi Sane fall victim to a backstage attack, with PFC being the prime suspects.
The final RAW of 2024 will see IYO SKY, Dakota Kai and Zoey Stark partake in the semi-finals of the inaugural Women's Intercontinental Title tournament. Chances are high that Shayna Baszler and Sonya Deville will interfere in one or both semi-finals, pressing their numbers advantage. This could pave the way for a blockbuster Asuka return to even the numerical disparity.
A comeback from knee injury for the four-time women's champion after 238 days away would be a major boost to the hype surrounding the red brand's Netflix debut.
#3 More segments could be announced for WWE RAW's Netflix debut
WWE RAW's Netflix debut will give Triple H and Co. a chance to introduce their product to up to 275 million worldwide viewers. If the Stamford-based promotion is to capture as many of that multitude as possible, it must make an immaculate first impression. This is why three WrestleMania-level matches involving attractions like Rhea Ripley, Roman Reigns and CM Punk have been booked for the show.
Given that the final RAW of 2024 is basically a go-home show for the move to Netflix, it is expected to build towards January 6th's landmark episode. Could we see top names like John Cena and The Rock finally be advertised for next week? Could A Cody Rhodes appearance be promoted? Could a legends' segment be added? Stone Cold Steve Austin, perhaps?
Triple H and Co. will be looking to treat the end of that era with the right amount of respect and kick off the new one with a bang.
#2 A big Transfer Window night on the final WWE RAW of 2024
Ahead of WWE RAW's move to Netflix and SmackDown going to three hours, a Transfer Window was announced. This window was meant to facilitate reshuffling of talents between brands to begin the new era with rosters aligned to the creative team's vision for the product. Thus far, prominent names like Braun Strowman have changed brands, while stars like Gunther and Sami Zayn have teased transferring as well.
With the two landmark episodes right around the corner, could we finally see heavy hitters like Zayn and Drew McIntyre permanently change brands? Could Gunther and Cody Rhodes switch brands, as has been repeatedly teased? Could we see some NXT callups to close out the year, since the window is open for all three brands?
The Transfer Window has been fairly underwhelming, but the final RAW of 2024 could rescue it with a series of heavyweight trades.
#1 A brawl is almost guaranteed on the last WWE RAW episode of 2024
The final WWE RAW of 2024 is already looking stacked before a punch is thrown. CM Punk and Seth Rollins will be under the same roof, and the Women's Intercontinental Title tournament finalists will be determined. Elsewhere, Damian Priest and The War Raiders will face The Judgment Day while Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley could finalize the build to their Last Woman Standing match on January 6.
Given that The Bloodline and Drew McIntyre will most likely also be on the hunt for Sami Zayn and Jey Uso, chances of a brawl are exceedingly high. Will Punk and Rollins be able to keep their hands off each other? Will Ripley and Morgan be able to fire off some final shots before their Netflix showdown? Will Jey Uso and Sami Zayn be able to fend off McIntyre and The Bloodline, even with Jimmy Uso's help?
Somebody buy Adam Pearce a drink, because it looks set to be a chaotic night at the office for the RAW general manager.
