CM Punk is preparing for his rematch with Drew McIntyre, which will take place at Bash in Berlin on Saturday, August 31. A stipulation has been added to the bout tonight, making it a Strap Match.
The rivalry between the two megastars is far from over, and The Best in the World will look to get back on track after his defeat at SummerSlam. This time, though, Punk could get help, as former Divas Champion AJ Lee could return and help him even the odds against The Scottish Warrior. Drew McIntyre has mentioned CM Punk's wife in several segments amid this feud.
It has been 113 months since AJ Lee last appeared in WWE
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
AJ Lee was a top star in WWE and one of the leaders in the Women's Division. The 37-year-old, though, decided to move on from WWE a year after her husband's departure in January 2014.
She left the Stamford-based company in April 2015 after WrestleMania 31. One hundred thirteen months later, she could return and make a surprise appearance at Bash in Berlin to help CM Punk win and re-claim the bracelet Drew McIntyre took from him.
It could be the first step for her WWE comeback
Back in 2015, AJ Lee announced her retirement from WWE and wrestling due to an injury and the fact that she had accomplished what she wanted in the business.
Still, after CM Punk's return, there had been speculation that she could consider a comeback after almost a decade. Punk has also hinted at this scenario, and an appearance at Bash in Berlin could be another hint that she could return in the future.
It will lead to Part III between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre
Should AJ Lee help Punk emerge victorious at Bash in Berlin, fans will see part III of this rivalry in one of the coming premium live events.
This would be the final chapter in this rivalry, and WWE could proceed with it, given that Punk's next opponent, Seth Rollins, will miss time due to injury.
