Is Uncle Howdy set for a return following a major gimmick change for a current WWE Superstar?
The Uncle Howdy character hasn't been seen on WWE TV for months on end at this point. The sinister entity disappeared from TV along with Bray Wyatt on the Road to WrestleMania 39 earlier this year. Wyatt's untimely passing convinced many fans that the Howdy character was history until a recent report indicated otherwise.
The report in question suggested that Triple H wanted Bo Dallas, Bray's brother, to carry on the legacy of the late star. This led to massive discourse among fans and mixed reactions to the idea of Howdy making a return.
On the latest edition of WWE RAW, former Women's Champion Nikki Cross emerged as Natalya's mystery partner against Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. Cross' demeanor was weird from the beginning, as she came out to the ring in what seemed like a trance.

Her lifeless eyes made it feel like someone was controlling her. She then took off and headed backstage instead of helping her tag team partner, leading to a loss for The Queen of Harts.
The sudden change in Cross' character could be a massive hint regarding Howdy's potential return to WWE TV in the near future. Much like how Bray Wyatt took over Alexa Bliss' mind back in 2020-21, is it possible that Howdy is mentally controlling Cross? Fans can't wait to hear an explanation of what happened to Cross.
Uncle Howdy targeted Alexa Bliss back in January
Earlier this year, Howdy had a few encounters with Alexa Bliss. On one occasion, he appeared during a brawl between Bliss and Bianca Belair. His appearance was enough to leave Belair dumbstruck, allowing Bliss to get an upper hand over her.
Both Bray Wyatt and Uncle Howdy disappeared from WWE TV during their feud with Bobby Lashley on the Road to WrestleMania 39. Many fans were quite excited following the reports of Howdy's return. Now that Nikki Cross has adopted a dark, sinister persona again, one wonders if Howdy's return is imminent.
