WWE Money in the Bank is scheduled for July 6th, 2024, in Toronto's Scotiabank Arena. The two matches that fans look forward to most are the men's and women's ladder matches for the Money in the Bank contract. The premium live event's qualifying matches will begin on the June 17th, 2024, episode of Monday Night RAW. Superstars have to worry about qualifying for the ladder match before worrying about the Money in the Bank briefcase.
So far, Jey Uso from WWE RAW has made his intentions clear about the event, and that he will be the one to win the briefcase. However, he isn't the only superstar who already has his eyes set on the briefcase. Over on WWE SmackDown, AJ Styles has pursued the Undisputed WWE Championship twice and failed.
First, he failed at Backlash 2024, and Cody Rhodes made The Phenomenal One say "I Quit" at Clash at the Castle: Scotland. However, it doesn't seem like The Phenomenal One is done with pursuing the title, but Rhodes might not accept yet another challenge. So, the contract is Styles' best way forward to add another championship to his name.
Styles has won the Intercontinental Championship once, the WWE Championship twice, and the United States Championship thrice. He has also been the RAW Tag Team Champion once with Omos.

Apart from the contract being his best chance forward to pursue the Undisputed WWE Championship, Styles is one of the superstars who can progress his storyline with the contract. Other stars such as Jey Uso might become involved with The Bloodline or the Intercontinental Championship. Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk is a huge storyline coming up, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens are involved with The Bloodline already. So, most superstars have something going for themselves, but Styles needs the contract to ensure he continues to be relevant in the Undisputed WWE Championship story.
Former Money in the Bank contract winner still holds championship
At 2023's Money in the Bank, IYO SKY and Damian Priest won the women's and men's ladder matches, respectively. SKY cashed in against Bianca Belair to become the new WWE Women's Champion but lost the title to Bayley at WrestleMania XL.
On the other hand, Damian Priest cashed in his contract against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania XL, and became the new World Heavyweight Champion. The Archer of Infamy still holds the championship, and defended it against Jey Uso at Backlash: France and Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle 2024.
Priest successfully cashing in was very well-received by the audience, especially after he failed to utilize his opportunities to cash in several times during the year.
