Former WWE star Steve Cox, who competed in many matches during the 1980s and early 1990s including the Universal Wrestling Federation, World Class Championship Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance, ridiculed present day stars, John Cena and CM Punk.
In an interview with Not In Hall Of Fame, where he was asked, whether he follows the sport today, he said: “I do, when I can. Now CM Punk and John Cena, you’ve got to me kidding me. Is this the best you got? Don’t get me wrong, but if this is the best you got, but these guys ain’t Brody.
“These guys would get destroyed in my day. When you watch the work today, it’s so light. It’s too make believe; too much entertainment. In my day, you believed you were getting your ass kicked, because you actually were.”
Two former WWE superstars, Justin Credible and Matt Striker were engaged in a scientific match featuring a storyline where if Credible cleanly defeated Striker, they would feature again in a hardcore match next month.
Following Striker’s loss, the former WWE announcer struck Credible, causing him to bleed. Following the tussle, Striker attempted to apologize backstage, but Credible fired back abuses and went away.
