WWE Superstar Bron Breakker defeated Jey Uso a few weeks ago on Monday Night RAW to become the new Intercontinental Champion. Since then, he has been awaiting his next challenger.

In a recent conversation with Breakker, General Manager Adam Pearce mentioned that he is working on finding a viable challenger for the former NXT Champion. There is a possibility that Pearce could be in talks with Drew McIntyre about making his return soon to face Breakker.

The Scottish Warrior has been out of action since his grueling Hell in a Cell match against CM Punk at Bad Blood. A program with Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship could be the perfect way for McIntyre to make his comeback. Engaging in a feud with someone of McIntyre’s caliber would undoubtedly help further establish Breakker and his title reign moving forward.

Former WWE writer hails Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre is certainly a strong contender for being the Wrestler of the Year in 2024. His performances, both in the ring and on the microphone, have been exceptional throughout the year.

On a recent episode of his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. remarked that McIntyre might be the most underrated wrestler on the WWE roster today. He noted that the former World Heavyweight Champion doesn’t receive the recognition he deserves for carrying the company as its World Champion during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prinze also praised McIntyre’s recent character evolution, calling it some of the best work of his career, particularly on the mic.

“Since the pandemic, I think he may be the most underrated wrestler on the WWE roster. I don’t think he’s ever gotten the props he deserved for being a COVID champion, which in hindsight is a much trickier and more complicated thing than I think anyone realized at the time. His ability to turn that character into this selfish heel that is willing to permanently injure someone, like he turned into such an a*****e. And he’s been so good on the mic, better than he’s ever been," Prinze Jr. said.
