The upcoming WWE Royal Rumble premium live event edition may see a former World Heavyweight Champion turn heel. The superstar is Seth Rollins. The Visionary has been a heel in WWE several times, with the last one coming in 2019.
He turned face in 2022 and, since then, has been into this character. But how would The Visionary turn heel? Who would he attack at Royal Rumble 2025? WWE may use one of its old tactics to turn Seth into a heel. The Visionary may give a low blow to his arch-nemesis CM Punk during the Rumble match and eliminate him. This turns him heel and sets up another match with CM Punk.
This has been done by several other superstars in the past as well. For example, Daniel Bryan turned heel when he gave a low blow to AJ Styles during their title match on SmackDown in 2018. The Undertaker also similarly turned heel in 2015 when he gave a low blow to Brock Lesnar during their match at SummerSlam 2015.
Moreover, Rollins has been a better heel than babyface. He debuted as a heel as part of The Shield alongside Roman Reigns and Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose) in 2012. He turned heel again in 2014 when he betrayed Roman Reigns on the orders of Triple H. Since then, Rollins has played heel several times in WWE.
Till now, Seth Rollins and CM Punk were both babyfaces. However, with Seth turning into a heel and Punk as a babyface, the two may put up some suitable matches in the upcoming PLEs. Their rivalry may culminate at WrestleMania 41, where Punk may finally beat Rollins to end the feud.
Seth Rollins was devastated after losing to CM Punk on WWE RAW
The former World Heavyweight Champion looked heartbroken after losing the match to CM Punk on tonight's episode of RAW. The contest, however, wasn't a one-sided affair. Seth fought intensely against CM Punk but fell to two back-to-back 'Go To Sleep' from The Straight Edge Superstar.
One wondered what Rollins was thinking after losing the match to his arch-rival, against whom he had wanted to settle scores for a long time. Ring announcer Michael Cole also spoke on the commentary, asking whether this was the final battle between the two legends.
Rollins' facial expressions suggested he isn't done yet and may want to rematch CM Punk at Elimination Chamber or WrestleMania 41. After tonight's verdict, how Triple H addresses the storyline between Punk and Rollins remains to be seen.
