What's the story?
It seems that one of WWE's employees was so eager to put the Elimination Chamber graphic on WWE.com yesterday that they completely forgot that Finn Balor hasn't been announced for the match yet, and so gave away the fact that it will be him winning the final qualifying match on Monday Night Raw.
In case you didn't know...
Balor lost his chance to be part of The Chamber when he was defeated by John Cena almost two weeks ago, but it seems that because Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan were factored into WWE's original plans and now neither man is set to compete, the company has decided to allow a "last-minute fatal four-way" to happen instead.
The match will see Apollo Crews, Bray Wyatt, Matt Hardy and Balor all fight it out for the final spot in the match that will determine the number one contender for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.
Kane is the only notable absentee from the match, having been brutalised by Braun Strowman the same week that "The Monster Among Men" and Cena became the first men to officially secure their place in the match.
The heart of the matter
Considering Bray Wyatt won his first and only WWE Championship as part of the event last year, many thought that "The Eater of Worlds" was the most likely final entrant into the match, but it seems that WWE.com could have leaked the winner two days early.
According to a report from StillRealTous, Balor was the man who was added to the graphic on their official website, as the company attempted to promote a match that all participants hadn't yet been officially unveiled for yesterday.
The image only appeared on WWE.com for a few minutes before it was swiftly taken down and replaced with a silhouette of the final participant instead, which means that one WWE employee is going to be in trouble tomorrow for reacting hastily and sending out the finished graphic before Finn actually earned his place in the match.
What's next?
The last chance fatal four-way match will take place on Monday night to determine the final place in this year's Men's Elimination Chamber match. Hardy, Wyatt and Crews are the three men who will battle Balor for the right to take part in the match - where the winner is set to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.
Author's take
Balor was always going to be the star who won this match anyway as Hardy and Wyatt have their own feud going on while it seems that poor Crews is the other man drafted into this encounter, with very few fans believing he'd be given a shot at a main event match headlining WrestleMania this year.
It's likely that the WWE employee was either fired or given a stern talking to for this error, but it does not tell anyone anything they didn't really already know. Balor needs a feud heading into WrestleMania and The Chamber is the perfect place to pick one up in time.
