What's the story?
Elimination Chamber takes place tonight from the T-Mobile Arena in the Las Vegas Valley, in Paradise, Nevada and even though Dean Ambrose has been out injured for the past two months, the former WWE Champion has been featured on a number of posters that are promoting the event.
In case you didn't know...
Dean Ambrose was injured back in December 2017 when WWE wrote him off TV by having Samoa Joe attack him backstage after Seth Rollins had already injured his arm accidentally as part of their match.
Ambrose had been struggling with the injury for a while and it seems that medical officials had finally decided that The Lunatic Fringe needed surgery on his torn tendon, something that has been reported to sideline him up until the Summer.
Ambrose did have a planned rivalry with his Shield teammate Rollins heading into WrestleMania, but it seems that this was put on the shelf when Jason Jordan was brought in to replace Ambrose on Christmas Day before Jordan himself was then sidelined with a neck injury that also incidentally needed surgery.
The heart of the matter
Many members of the WWE Universe who have arrived in Las Vegas ahead of tonight's show have been sharing images online of the promotional posters ahead of the event which all feature Dean Ambrose.
Both The Miz and Nia Jax have seemingly had issues with the fact that WWE has missed them off the picture, but somehow the company have allowed Ambrose to be put on there. Even though it's possible that these posters were made before Ambrose's injury, it's still likely that the company put Ambrose on there because the pay-per-view is in Las Vegas.
It was reported that Ambrose was still advertised to be part of the show earlier this year, with many fans wondering if WWE had just forgotten to update the listing, but it could have just been a way to push the ticket sales in the state that the popular star currently resides in.
The Lunatic Fringe currently lives in Vegas and is popular in the area and many fans would want to attend the event based on this since ticket sales for the event have reportedly not been very good, this could be a way to help.
It's highly unlikely that the company would spoil a huge return like that on the poster since there has been no word on his upcoming return except some small speculation that he could be fit for WrestleMania based on a siting of the star in Birmingham, Alabama a few weeks ago.
What's next?
Elimination Chamber takes place tonight from Las Vegas, Nevada and Roman Reigns is still the heavy favourite to win the Chamber match and go on to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.
Author's take
Every fan would love to see Dean Ambrose back and it seems that it's this kind of thinking that has led many fans to believe that he could return tonight. Ambrose underwent surgery less than two months ago and interestingly, it took Braun Strowman three months to return from the same kind of surgery.
It just isn't feasible for Ambrose to return to the company at this current time since returning too early from surgery puts a superstar at a higher risk of becoming injured again.
