What’s the story?
The final spot on the SmackDown Women’s team for Survivor Series may feature one of a few big names.
On that note, the professional wrestling community is buzzing about the possibilities of witnessing either Natalya, Paige or Nikki Bella filling in the spot.
In case you didn’t know…
Charlotte Flair was initially scheduled to compete for the blue brand in the Women’s 5-on-5 Survivor Series match.

However, Flair defeated Natalya for the SmackDown Women’s Championship on this week’s episode of SD Live; and will now take on RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series.
The heart of the matter
Speaking of which, Flair obviously won’t participate in the 5-on-5 Survivor Series matchup, owing to which the WWE has been juggling multiple big names to add in and fill the vacant spot.
Furthermore, the WWE addressed the situation and asserted that they will indeed announce the fifth and final member on the SmackDown Women’s team for Survivor Series ‘very soon’. Nevertheless, if one is to believe the rumblings in the pro-wrestling community, WWE won’t let fans in on the aforementioned 5th member until the PPV goes down later this week.
Besides, the top candidates for the spot are rumoured to be Natalya (who just dropped the SmackDown Women’s title to Flair), Paige (spotted at this week’s RAW tapings backstage) or Nikki Bella (currently recovering from nagging injury issues).
What’s next?
With Natalya and Paige being the likeliest options to fill in the spot for the blue brand at Survivor Series, Nikki Bella may act as a wildcard of sorts.
Especially considering the fact that this would be her first appearance since Wrestlemania 33 in April, and could very well garner a huge pop for the former Divas Champion should she make a surprise comeback at Survivor Series.
Author’s take
Honestly speaking, it’d be great to see the WWE to bring back Nikki Bella to compete for the blue brand.
Of the three well-known Superstars, Nikki’s return would most definitely be the most shocking and may serve to surprise the WWE Universe at Survivor Series.
