After Survivor Series, The Boy Wonder has been an active on-screen character for SmackDown. He was mostly seen crossing paths with the likes of Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and general manager Daniel Bryan on the Tuesday night show.
The heart of the matter
According to the rumor, Shane McMahon is currently ‘pencilled in’ for a major match at WrestleMania. The feud with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn is expected to be one of the potential backstories for the match.
The nature of Shane’s match or his opponent/tag team partner is all but clear at this point of time. Earlier, there were rumors about a potential feud between Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon as well, and it'll be interesting to see if that develops.
What’s next?
With the Royal Rumble just around the corner, it’s safe to say that we are on the road to WrestleMania.
This year’s event will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on April 8. Meanwhile, Shane McMahon’s future is expected to unravel in the upcoming episodes of SmackDown Live.
Author’s take
Shane McMahon has been a pretty active name on the SmackDown Live roster thus far and not using him for WrestleMania 34 would be the last thing WWE would do.
As for his potential matches, personally, Shane could face Daniel Bryan in a one-on-one showdown or we could even have a tag team match in our hands with Shane teaming up with Bryan to face Owens and Zayn.
Either way, Shane is expected to be a guaranteed attraction for WrestleMania.
