From the WWE Rumor Mill: Bobby Roode to win the US Title Tournament

Bobby Roode

What's the story?

As per the latest edition of the rumour roundup on cage side seats, it is being reported that Bobby Roode and Jinder Mahal will be the two finalists in the ongoing US Title tournament.

Furthermore, it is believed that Bobby Roode will come out victorious and possibly become the US Champion.

In case you didn't know...

Dolph Ziggler won the United States Championship at the Clash of Champions event on December 17 by defeated then-Champion Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode in a triple threat match.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Ziggler, however, vacated the Title soon after on Smackdown by dropping the title in the middle of the ring and just walking off, stating that the WWE Universe did not deserve him.

Dolph has not appeared on WWE TV since then although he has been working house shows; so it is viable to assume that this all part of a storyline.

The heart of the matter

It looks like Jinder Mahal and Bobby Roode will be the two to make the finals. Many fans were rooting for Roode to actually win the Title at Clash of Champions and it came as a surprise when Dolph won.

The picture is becoming clearer now as it seems that Dolph and Bobby will continue their feud after Roode wins the tournament.

It will also give Jinder legitimacy after losing his WWE Championship and might be the start of another program for him.

What's next?

It is safe to assume as of now that Baron Corbin is out of the title picture and the feud going forward will be Ziggler vs Roode.

Author's note

I believe it is quite possible that Ziggler will make his return after the tournament is ended and would want to claim the US Title as his own since he never officially lost it; leading to a program between the two rivals.
