What's the story?
We saw Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman exchange words to close out RAW, this week. A rumour that was first reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, and later by IWNerd suggests that WWE toyed with the idea of keeping Roman Reigns off TV last week.
The idea was supposed to reiterate the fact that Roman Reigns went off script the week prior when he made 'shoot' comments about Brock Lesnar. However, they decided to call the idea off and have Roman Reigns face off with Paul Heyman instead, on RAW.
In case you didn't know...
Roman Reigns won the Elimination Chamber match and will now face the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. However, the Universal Champion has no-showed RAW for a while now, which led Roman Reigns to cut a scathing promo on the top champion in the red brand.

The promo made waves and headlines across the world and left people wondering if it was a work or a shoot.
The heart of the matter
To reiterate the idea that Roman Reigns had gone off script and actually spoken his mind, he was going to be suspended from RAW for a week, in storyline of course. The plans were scrapped when WWE probably realized that having him exchange words with Paul Heyman makes more sense than leaving him off TV.
Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns went on to have a forgettable segment to close out the show. We wonder which idea would have fared better, overall.
What's next?
Brock Lesnar will be on RAW this week. The two men involved in the big WrestleMania match will come face to face. Will fists fly when these two physical specimens finally come face to face one more time?
Author's take
I would have loved to see Roman Reigns suspended in storyline. It's hard to keep the audience guessing in an era when kayfabe is no more and this could have been a nice twist.
I somehow just want this feud over and done with, so that we move on to a full-time Universal Champion.
