From the WWE Rumor Mill: Hulk Hogan joining Bullet Club almost happened

What's the story?

Hulk Hogan was notably missing from RAW 25th with WWE sticking by their decision to release the legendary wrestling Superstar, however, that's not the only thing wrestling fans missed out on seeing Hogan is as the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Hulk Hogan was in serious talks to join the most popular faction in modern history.

In case you didn't know...

The faction that I'm talking about is none other than 'The Bullet Club' of course, with the rebellious New Japan Pro Wrestling stable taking the independent wrestling circuit by storm. Current members The Young Bucks have the highest Hot Topic shirt sales, current leader Kenny Omega is breaking Dave Meltzer's star rating system and having historic matches with Chris Jericho at the Tokyo Dome and fellow member Cody Rhodes is planning a wrestling show called 'All-In' that should reach it's 10,000 seat sale target.

The heart of the matter

The point I'm making is that it could seem like The Bullet Club are unstoppable in the world of wrestling and couldn't possibly need anything else to make headlines, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they almost had one of the biggest ever draws in wrestling, if not the biggest, join their ranks.

The WON indicates that there were actual talks for 'The Hulkamaniac' Hulk Hogan to join The Bullet Club a few months ago, suggesting that the faction would love to have added Hogan to its ranks.

There were negotiations a few months back for Hogan to be part of The Bullet Club, as legit they have said the only outside guys they’d want in would be C.M. Punk or Hogan

The Newsletter goes on to detail why the proposed joining together of one of WWE's greatest individuals and independent wrestling's most popular group fell through, with the blame seemingly resting squarely with Hogan.

the feeling was that Hogan wanted too much money and he’d bail on them the minute Vince called, and the feeling was that he was negotiating in the first place to get Vince to bring him back. And that has been his m.o. in the past the first time he was going to work TNA and also with that Jimmy Hart group years ago that he was going to be the face off and then bailed because WWE was then interested in bringing him in rather than have him work elsewhere

What's next?

There's still a chance that 'Hogan Club' could 'Run Wild On You' as the former WWE Superstar responded to the news that he wouldn't be appearing on RAW's 25th Anniversary show with the following comment

"I’m about ready to jump on a plane and fly to Japan and get involved with that Bullet Club, man. I’m so excited about those kids.”
