What's the story?
Brad Shepard of BodySlam.net has tweeted that he's received word from someone inside a WWE hotel indicating that female WWE legend Trish Stratus might actually be competing at WrestleMania.
In case you didn't know...
Trish Stratus is WWE's most successful female Superstar with eight separate titles to her name. She was last seen appearing alongside several of WWE's other female legends in the first ever Women's Royal Rumble Match where she had a great showing, including a confrontation with longtime rival Mickie James.
The heart of the matter
Brad Shepard, who has a legitimate source within WWE having accurately broken the XFL news and WWE Hall of Fame news, has tweeted saying that he's been tipped off that Trish Stratus was seen in a WWE hotel asking for directions to the rehearsal space, indicating that she is perhaps wrestling at WrestleMania.
This could very well be legitimate as we have already seen another fairly reliable source of WWE inside scoops, Slice Wrestling confirm that a WWE hotel has been set up with a rehearsal space for Superstars to practise their 'Mania matches.
What's next?
The first-ever Women's Batlle Royal is being built up as a big deal and a continuation of all the record-breaking women's revolution stuff that WWE has been presenting over the last few months so it makes a lot of sense that they would pull out all of the stops to make the Battle Royal feel special.
Author's take
We don't have a lot of competitors already announced for the Women's WrestleMania Battle Royal but we do know that several Superstars from NXT are set to take part in it, so why won't some of the female legends and WWE alumni take part in the match as well. Either way, as often the case with the WWE women these days, history is going to be made.
