What’s the story?
As noted, WWE’s future advertising for upcoming live events may have somewhat revealed the next possible feud for “The Empress of Tomorrow”, following the conclusion of WrestleMania 34, which takes place within two weeks.
In case you didn’t know…
Following her WWE debut in 2015, Asuka has had one of the most decorated careers in the company so far, within the first three years of her tenure with the company. In April of 2016 at NXT TakeOver: Dallas Asuka defeated Bayley to win the NXT Women’s Championship, a title that she went on to hold for a total of 510 days.
Upon her call up to the main roster in 2017, Asuka continued her dominating winning streak over the rest of the WWE Women’s division as she won the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match in January of 2018.
The heart of the matter
As aforementioned, the future advertisements for WWE’s upcoming live events are now currently publicizing several matches between Asuka and Nia Jax for numerous forthcoming WWE live events, including a house show on Sunday, on the 27th of May at the Hampton Coliseum, Hampton, Virginia.
However, as we all know, “The Empress of Tomorrow” is currently slated to go toe-to-toe against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34 for the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship and with the latest advertisements for the upcoming WWE live events, there is definitely a slight possibility of Charlotte Flair potentially bringing an end to Asuka’s undefeated streak in the WWE at “The Grandest Stage of Them All”. But, as always, WWE live event cards are subject to change and there is certainly no confirmation on a possible bout between Asuka and Nia Jax after ‘Mania 34.
What’s next?
Asuka is currently scheduled to go one-on-one against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34 with the Smackdown Live Women’s Title on the line and meanwhile, Nia Jax will get her hands on Alexa Bliss and will have a chance to capture the Raw Women’s Title at ‘Mania 34, later next month in New Orleans.
Author’s Take
We have previously witnessed Asuka vs Nia Jax on several occasions, so I believe that the WWE will be hesitant about continuing the rivalry between the two women. However, if both Asuka and Nia Jax win their respective matches at WrestleMania 34, then we could possibly witness a Champion vs Champion rivalry between “The Empress of Tomorrow” and “The Irresistible Force”.
