What’s the story?
During the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, respected Professional Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer discussed this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw and also provided an update on Braun Strowman’s potential tag team partner at WrestleMania 34.
In case you didn’t know…
A few weeks ago on Raw, The Monster Among Men single-handedly won a tag team Battle Royal in order to confirm his place at WrestleMania 34 by becoming the No.1 contender for the Raw Tag Team Titles.
However, as per announced by GM Kurt Angle, Strowman now has the task of finding a tag team partner for himself in order to compete in his Raw Tag Title match at WrestleMania 34.
The heart of the matter
As per noted by Meltzer on this week’s installment of The Wrestling Observer Radio, the current belief and speculations apparently suggest that former WWE World Champion, The Big Show could make his return at WrestleMania 34 as Strowman’s mystery partner in his Raw Tag Title match against Sheamus and Cesaro—The Bar. Meltzer opined:
“Big Show just resigned. Big Show definitely has a chance. You know when I heard Big Show re-signed I thought he’s ready. He seems like a good candidate for that spot right now, but we’ll see. I don’t who it is right now”
In addition, Meltzer also claimed that Strowman’s former Wyatt Family stablemate Bray Wyatt could possibly turn out to be Strowman’s mystery partner at WrestleMania 34, due to the two men having a lot of history with each other.
It is also likely that Wyatt could potentially come back with a new gimmick and persona, following his Ultimate Deletion loss to “Woken” Matt Hardy.
What’s next?
We are now just one week away from the biggest WWE pay-per-view of the year, that is, WrestleMania 34, which takes place in New Orleans and it looks like we will now have to wait for at least one more week in order to find out who Strowman’s mystery partner is.
Author’s take
Personally, I’d hope that Strowman’s mystery partner turns out to be Wyatt and not The Big Show. The Eater of Worlds definitely needs it a lot more than Show at the moment and this could pretty much be the turning point of Wyatt’s WWE career.
