What’s the Story?
A Raw Tag Team Championship match scheduled for Sunday, January 14 in Waco, Texas was cancelled due to the absence of Jason Jordan.
Unfortunately, Jordan’s absence may have been due to injury according to a report from PWInsider.
In Case You Didn’t Know
Jordan has been heavily featured on Monday Night Raw since being revealed as “Kurt Angle’s Son.” The former member of American Alpha has had multiple matches against Raw’s biggest superstars and would go on to win the Raw Tag Team Championships with Seth Rollins after being gifted the opportunity in place of Dean Ambrose.
The Heart of the Matter
There has been no information regarding the nature of Jordan’s injury nor is there any word on whether he’ll compete on tonight’s episode of Raw.
Jordan was playing up what seemed to be a kayfabe knee injury for the past few weeks, but there’s no information to confirm the extent of the injury or what area of Jordan’s body has been hurt.
Jordan & Rollins are expected to defend the Raw Tag Team Championships against Cesaro & Sheamus at the Royal Rumble in two weeks, but the match’s status could be in jeopardy if Jordan’s injury is severe enough.
Jordan isn’t as active as most WWE superstars on social media and has not posted a message to Twitter or Instagram since winning the Raw Tag Team Championships back in December.
What’s Next?
Many fans are expecting Jordan to turn heel and feud with Kurt Angle heading into WrestleMania, but that will ultimately depend on the extent of Jordan’s injuries.
If Jordan appears on Raw, then the injury probably won’t interfere with any long-term plans.
Author’s Take
Wrestlers getting injured always makes for unfortunate news. Hopefully, the injury isn’t too severe and Jordan can make a speedy recovery.
