From the WWE Rumor Mill: The Undertaker arrives in New York to undergo a 'special surgery'

The Undertaker and Michelle McCool arrive in New York

What’s the story?

The Sun has reported that the Undertaker was spotted outside of the David H. Koch Hospital in Manhatten to undergo multiple procedures to heal ailments he’s been dealing with for a lengthy period of time.

The Background

Top WWE star blasted, compared to Winnie the Pooh RIGHT HERE

The Deadman is considered to be one of the greatest performers in professional wrestling’s rich history. However, unlike the popular opinion of the WWE Universe, he is not indestructible. His body has gotten the better of him over time, and the injuries have started to multiply.

A previous article by The Sun suggested that The Undertaker was set for hip surgery prior to WrestleMania in Orlando but wanted to delay it until after the grandiose event that saw him put over Roman Reigns in dominating fashion. Anytime an injury’s solution is put on hold, the risk for heightened severity is always present. In this case, that’s exactly what happened to the Phenom.

The heart of the matter

Not only could the Undertaker be set for a hip replacement, much like his counterpart Mick Foley, but he’s going in for what is being called a “special surgery,” as put by the Sun. All other details are unknown at this point. Due to the privacy of Taker, including McCool, the recovery process could be a secret as well. According to U.S. News, the David H. Koch Hospital, where The Undertaker will have the procedure, was rated the no. 1 hospital in orthopaedics in the United States.

What’s next?

Aside from waiting to see the official prognosis from the Undertaker’s series of procedures, it’s a waiting game. The chances of him wrestling again are slim-to-none, which shouldn’t surprise anybody. Even though a hip replacement can revitalise somebody’s motor skills in the lower body, a wrestling match would do more harm, than good.

Author’s take

It was no surprise that The Undertaker did the job for Reigns on the way out. After all, The Deadman is one of the most selfless wrestlers of all time. Hopefully, he has a speedy recovery and can enjoy retirement with his family.
