What’s the story?
Dave Meltzer opened up on the status of The Revival during the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
He said that the duo of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilde -- collectively known as The Revival, could make their return to WWE TV within the next few weeks.
In case you didn’t know…
Scott Dawson's bicep injury forced WWE to write the tag team off Tv. The former NXT Tag Team Champions have been out of action since July.
Their last programme was a three-way feud against The Hardy Boys and Gallows & Anderson. However, the angle came to an abrupt end due to Dawson’s ruptured bicep.
On the other hand, Dawson’s partner Dash Wilder has been seen teaming up with the likes of Goldust and Elias and has been wrestling in tag team matches during live events. WWE has decided not to showcase Wilder on live TV, while his partner is sidelined.
The heart of the matter
According to Dave Meltzer’s latest report, it seems like Scott Dawson could be a few weeks away from returning to action as The Revival gets set to make their comeback.
Meltzer has stated that Dawson, who underwent surgery back in August, will be fit to wrestle once again in mid-December as he has been healing and rehabbing ever since undergoing the surgery.
Meltzer also added that while Jeff Hardy still remains sidelined due to a shoulder injury, it is unlikely that WWE will move forward with the Revival vs. The Hardy Boys feud and might find a new and fresh rivalry for the former Dawson and Wilder once they are back.
What’s next?
The WWE Universe can expect to see the promising team back in action within 2017 as December is the predicted month.
There is also a pretty solid chance that we might witness Dash and Dawson being thrown into the Raw Tag Team Title picture and could possibly see the beginning of an amazing rivalry between The Bar and The Revival.
Author’s take
On the other hand, though, it will be interesting to note if WWE decides to move forward with The Revival’s rivalry against The Club -- whom they were also feuding against, prior to Dawson’s injury. The second option could be The Revival finally going after the Raw Tag Team Championships.
In my opinion, I think the latter sounds more appealing as we could possibly witness some great matches The Revival against Sheamus & Cesaro and maybe even get a few dream matches between The Revival and The Shield (Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose).
