What's the story
Dolph Ziggler's latest big persona change led to him testing out several entrances followed by decided to just scrap having one altogether. Since then, he was inserted into the United States Title picture seemingly out of nowhere and at Clash Of Champions he pulled off a big win by defeating both Bobby Roode and then-champion Baron Corbin to take home the US Title.
But as it turned out, Ziggler would leave the United States title in the ring on the next SmackDown Live after saying that fans don't deserve him. PW Insider reported that WWE has some interesting plans for Ziggler from this point onward.
In case you didn't know
This isn't the first time Dolph Ziggler held the United States Championship but he certainly didn't create this kind of controversy in the past. With his WWE contract rumoured to be up soon, many fans are wondering if the Show Off could be leaving WWE soon. Therefore, everything could be a sign he's on his way out at this point.

Heart of the matter
PW Insider reports WWE's current plan is to keep Dolph Ziggler off of television for a while. It's uncertain what will happen with the US Title in the meantime, but it will certainly be interesting to see how this pans out.
But even though Ziggler won't be appearing on television, the plan is for him to still work WWE live shows.
What's next
Dolph Ziggler might be on his way out, and if that's the case then he's had an amazing career. Some would say he's already cemented his eligibility for the WWE Hall Of Fame as well. But only time will tell just how long Ziggler sticks around.
Author's take
This storyline is very interesting and could turn into a situation much like when Shawn Michaels was Intercontinental Champion but had to leave with his title and it went to Razor Ramon.
That angle resulted in a pretty stellar ladder match, therefore, if the writing is on the wall for something similar, then Ziggler will be back sooner or later to claim ownership of his US Title.
