What's the story?
There have been a number of reports recently, of backstage heat on SmackDown Live Superstar Big Cass. The heat reportedly stems from Cass going out of script on an episode of SmackDown Live despite Vince McMahon himself refusing to give him permission.
This week, there have been further reports of backstage heat on Big Cass for further incidents, including him going against the script on the SmackDown before Backlash.
In case you didn't know...
Big Cass returned to action from a torn ACL on the Superstar Shake-Up episode of SmackDown Live. He attacked Daniel Bryan at the end of the main event, laying Bryan out with a big boot.

Cass followed it up by eliminating Daniel Bryan from the Greatest Royal Rumble match which led to their match at Backlash. Daniel Bryan won the match with the Yes Lock before Cass booted Bryan again as he was celebrating.
The heart of the matter
Bryan Alvarez reported on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio while talking about the segment where Daniel Bryan destroyed Big Cass, that backstage heat wasn't a new thing for Big Cass. Alvarez's exact words were "this is not the first time stupid stuff has happened with Cass.
Alvarez added that Cass had previously been in trouble for not following the script on the SmackDown before Backlash.
What's next?
After Bryan's beatdown last week, it's not clear where this storyline will go next. For all we know, this storyline could even be over.
Author's take
Rumours of Cass having backstage heat aren't new. Hopefully, WWE don't pull the plug on the angle with Bryan because it could lead to something interesting.
