From the WWE Rumour Mill: Big plans for The Miz upon his return

What's the story?

He was out filming the latest installment of 'The Marine' franchise. The WWE Universe longed for his return, even though he's a heel.

It was announced on RAW this week that The Miz will make his big return to the red brand next week. Cageside Seats revealed that there are big plans for the A-List superstar, once he does return.

In case you didn't know...

After 169 days as the Intercontinental Champion, The Miz dropped his title to Roman Reigns on the November 20th episode of RAW. He's currently filming 'The Marine 6: Close Quarters' with the likes of Becky Lynch and Shawn Michaels.

Reigns successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship in this week's edition of RAW against Samoa Joe. The stipulation for the match was that if Reigns were to get disqualified, the title would change hands. Reigns won the contest, fair and square.

The heart of the matter

Cageside Seats reported a rumour that Roman Reigns has a target on his back, upon The Miz's return. The Miz will be gunning for The Intercontinental Championship currently held by The Big Dog, right after his comeback.

This does make sense because the last we saw of The Miz was him losing his prized Intercontinental Championship. One assumes that the loss has quite grievously affected him and he will be out for retribution along with his two trusty aides, The Miztourage.

What's next?

The Miz returns next week, to seek retribution. Will he call out Roman Reigns for a match on the very same night? Will he enter his name for the Royal Rumble?

Author's take

The Miz can make practically any program that he's booked in seem meaningful. Him and Roman Reigns could certainly tear it up, over the coming weeks.

It'll also be interesting to see The Miz's relationship with Elias, who's been the makeshift leader of The Miztourage, over the past few weeks on RAW.
