What's the story?
Many fans have cried out on social media about Luke Harper being kept off television, despite the fact that he's one of the best in-ring talents in the entire roster. Fans can rejoice now, as it seems that Harper may be making a comeback, in a different persona.
According to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Harper is currently being repackaged. We bring you the Tweet he posted on social media.
In case you didn't know...
Luke Harper has been a part of the Wyatt Family since the very inception. After the dissolution of the Wyatt Family on SmackDown Live, we saw Harper seemingly turn babyface and have a fantastic match at Elimination Chamber against Randy Orton.
There really hasn't been much for him since the Superstar Shake-Up, and Cageside Seats reports that while Harper and Rowan were supposed to be the culprits in the investigation that is ongoing with Breezango, the idea was shelved by WWE creative.
The heart of the matter
The central issue with the Luke Harper character is that it reminds fans too much of the Wyatt Family with the distinctive, unkempt look. A complete overhaul in character would allow him to begin afresh and make his mark without any baggage from the erstwhile Wyatt Family.
Harper is one of the better workers in sports entertainment right now, and he has a long way to go. Here's hoping that he gets a renewed push following this attempt at repackaging him.
What's next?
If anything, the SmackDown Live roster is too full of talent right now, at least in the men's division. We wonder when this new gimmick will make its debut.
Author's take
Couldn't be happier for the incredibly talented Luke Harper. He can work and he can talk, and with this gimmick, he'll hopefully finally get the push he always deserved.
