In the A Block opener, Taichi of Suzuki-gun took on Yujiro Takahashi of the Bullet Club. Taichi came into this G1 Climax 30 match with a 2-0 record after an upset win over his leader Minoru Suzuki on Night 3. Yujiro was 0-2.

This G1 Climax 30 match started after Takahashi used his pimp cane to attack Taichi before the bell. As such, Yujiro controlled the match early on. Taichi cut him off outside the ring, choking him with a camera wire before he brought him back in the ring.

Both men exchanged big boots and then strikes. This ended when Takahashi landed a lariat and followed up with an Angle Slam for a two count. Yujiro looked for Pump Juice, but Taichi reversed it and hits a backdrop driver. Taichi removed his tights and went for a thrust kick, which Yujiro reversed into the Miami Shine.

In the end, Taichi pushed the ref down and lands a low blow. He followed up with a Gedo Clutch pin for the win and two points in eleven minutes in the G1 Climax 30. This was a clunky but decent match that was probably better than many expected.
