WWE Survivor Series 2024 saw a title change. LA Knight faced Shinsuke Nakamura in a singles match for the United States Championship. The bout ended with a shocking twist as Nakamura overpowered Knight and pinned him to become the new titleholder.
The Megastar had been an absolute fan favorite and a workhorse champion since he captured the title at SummerSlam 2024. However, he might need a break after losing the United States Championship. Meanwhile, AJ Styles could make a comeback to the Stamford-based promotion and challenge his former rival and newly crowned champion Shinsuke Nakamura.
The Triple H-led creative team may book Nakamura and The Phenomenal One in a title feud. AJ Styles has been out of action after suffering a severe injury earlier this year. Upon his return, Styles can immediately pursue the United States Title to kick off his run on a high note.
Many believe AJ Styles' legendary in-ring career is nearing its end. Shinsuke Nakamura has been one of Styles' greatest rivals in pro wrestling. The two locked horns in NJPW before having an intense rivalry in 2018 as part of WWE. A feud between the two veterans could reestablish them as main-event talents. That said, the angle is speculative as of now.
LA Knight might challenge Shinsuke Nakamura to a rematch
LA Knight losing his United States Championship might be the biggest upset of the event, as he was the favorite to retain his title going into the match. To avenge his unexpected loss, The Megastar could demand an instant rematch for the United States Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura.
Triple H could book a rematch between the two rivals at the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event 2024 for the United States Title. Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens has already been announced for the show. It remains to be seen what the creative team has in store for Nakamura as the United States Champion.
