Goldberg's appearance at Bad Blood has the WWE Universe discussing a potential match against Gunther. The Hall of Famer bumped heads with the World Heavyweight Champion after being mocked by The Ring General.
The two juggernauts could collide at some stage, but the Austrian star might not be the WWE icon's first return match. Ludwig Kaiser, Gunther's right-hand man, might be served up to the 57-year-old.
Goldberg has made a career out of squashing opponents quickly. In 2016, he decimated Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series with a dominant display against the Beast. That might be Kaiser's fate if his Imperium leader orders him to handle the former Universal Champion. The German star usually does his stablemate's bidding, which might be the case before a potential world title match.
Ludwig Kaiser lost to Sami Zayn a week before Gunther successfully defended his title against the RAW star.
Goldberg was expected to appear in that match but was absent, leaving fans to speculate over his future. Many anticipate that he'll hang up his boots the next time he's inside the ring.
However, the WCW legend might be eased back into competition against Kaiser. They could square off at Crown Jewel with a title opportunity against Gunther on the line. The champ will be busy facing Cody Rhodes in a champion vs champion match for the inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Championship at the PLE.
Eric Bischoff thinks Goldberg's last WWE match should be against Bron Breakker, not Gunther
Goldberg looks increasingly likely to be wrapping up his career should he indeed make an in-ring return. His appearance at Bad Blood hinted at a clash with Gunther as he told the champion, "You're next."
Eric Bischoff has proposed Bron Breakker as a viable opponent for the former World Heavyweight Champion's final match. He alluded to WWE's recent use of the Steiner Brothers.
"They've done a good job of establishing the Steiner brothers since WrestleMania, their name even came up a couple times tonight so the audience knows who they are and why they're being talked about. They also know the relationship with Bron and the connection to Bill going back to WCW." [Wrestling INC].
Breaker has been on a tear lately, although he lost his Intercontinental Championship to Jey Uso. He appeared to turn babyface but attacked Main Event Jey after feeling disrespected.
While The Ring General would be an excellent candidate to face Goldberg, Breakker arguably has shades of the Hall of Famer in the way he carries himself. A match at WrestleMania 41 against RAW's rising star could be a perfect send-off for the legend.
