After delivering a sensational show at the Super Dome in New Orleans, WWE will be heading straight to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for a grand event. The Greatest Royal Rumble will be live on the WWE Network on April 27th, 2018.
There's no denying that the show will be one of the biggest events WWE has ever done outside of their landmark territory. Judging by the current match-card advertised for the show, it's safe to say that this blockbuster event could surpass WrestleMania 34 as the best show of this year.
Here are the full predictions for the Greatest Royal Rumble
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#1 The Bludgeon Brothers(C) Vs. The Usos for the SmackDown Live Tag-Team Championships
In what was a disappointing encounter at WrestleMania 34, The Bludgeon Brothers annihilated the Usos and New Day to win the SmackDown Live Tag-Team Championships.
However, the former Champions regained momentum when they defeated the New Day to earn the No. 1 contender's spot for the Tag-Titles.
Since the Usos are struggling to catch up to Harper and Rowan, it's safe to say that they won't be winning the gold here. Bludgeon Brothers for the win.
Prediction: Bludgeon Brothers retain
#2 The Bar Vs. Bray Wyatt and 'Woken' Matt Hardy for the Vacant Raw Tag-Team Championships
After clinching a monumental victory with jaw-dropping assistance from Bray Wyatt, 'Woken' Matt Hardy is ready to take on the world. The newly formed alliance looks solid on paper with tremendous potential.
Having defeated The Revival to earn the coveted spot, there's no doubt that they will be heading to Jeddah to win the gold.
The Bar has accomplished everything they could in the tag-team division with very high success rate. Therefore, it would be an ideal prospect if the WWE pushes Bray Wyatt and 'Woken' Matt Hardy to the moon by crowning them the new tag-team Champions in Jeddah.
Predictions: 'Woken' Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt win
#3 Cedric Alexander(C) Vs. Kalisto for the Cruiserweight Championship
After pinning Drew Gulak in an impressive Gauntlet Match, Kalisto has sealed his ticket to Saudi Arabia. The 31-year old Superstar is now set to challenge Cedric Alexander for the Cruiserweight Championship in what would be one hell of a bout.
However, since Buddy Murphy might be next in line for his opportunity at the title, it's safe to say that Kalisto's chances to walk out as the champion, are low.
Nonetheless, the match will excite the audience and bring this repackaged division on the map. Expect a beautiful performance with a clean victory for Cedric Alexander.
Prediction: Cedric Alexander retains
#4 Jeff Hardy(C) Vs. Jinder Mahal for the United States Championship
In a shocking turn of events, Jinder Mahal made his way to Monday Night Raw courtesy of the Superstar Shake-Up but lost the prestigious United States Championship to Jeff Hardy. Since the Charismatic Enigma holds the belt, it makes no sense for Jeff to drop the title so soon.
Jinder Mahal was scheduled to face Randy Orton at Backlash but with Jeff's inclusion, it seems like WWE will be going the other way around.
With Randy Orton already confirmed to face the United States Champion at Backlash in May, it's safe to say that Jeff Hardy will lock horns with him in the foreseeable future. Expect this to be a fine match with another loss for Jinder Mahal.
Prediction: Jeff Hardy retains
#5 The Undertaker Vs. Rusev in a Casket match
After so many alterations, the WWE have finally announced that the Undertaker will lock horns with Rusev at the Greatest Royal Rumble in a casket match.
Let's not take anything away from how incredible the Bulgarian Brute is, but after disappointingly losing at WrestleMania, facing the Undertaker seems more like a burial than a promotion.
Therefore, after defeating John Cena in a squash match, there's no way Rusev stands a chance against the Phenom. Expect the former U.S. Champion to be squashed just like John Cena.
Prediction: The Undertaker buries Rusev
#6 Seth Rollins(C) Vs. The Miz Vs. Finn Balor Vs. Samoa Joe for the Intercontinental Championship
After an incredible triple-threat match at WrestleMania 34, Grand Slam Rollins will be defending his Intercontinental Championship in a blockbuster Fatal-4 way.
With Samoa Joe and the Miz already on SmackDown Live, it makes sense for Seth Rollins to retain the belt cleanly.
Samoa Joe's inclusion to this match adds a lot of depth. There's no denying that this match could be The Show-Stopper at Saudi Arabia.
Regardless of the stakes, there's no way Rollins would lose the title so early. Therefore, "The Architect" is winning this one easily.
Prediction: Seth Rollins retains
#7 A.J. Styles(C) Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship
Now, this is where I believe WWE would be willing to take a risk. Judging by the popularity, Shinsuke Nakamura gravitates all over the world; the company could pull off a shocker in this one.
Despite the match having so much marketability, these two superstars were not able to click at WrestleMania 34. Both crowd-favourites delivered a fantastic match but fell short of expectations. However, this dream feud isn't over yet, particularly after a sensational heel turn by Nakamura.
Since losing to Styles in another match would relegate Nakamura's credibility, it would be a safe bet to have him defeat The Phenomenal One. The victory via low-blow could generate maximum heat which would be beneficial for the King of Strong Style.
Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura wins
#8 John Cena Vs. Triple H
This is a match that will genuinely entertain the crowd. Both the Superstars are established names in the business with a wide reach.
However, as far as the outcome of this match goes, it would make sense if John Cena defeats Triple H in a clean encounter. Losing to the Franchise won't affect Triple H's credibility at all.
Since events of such magnitude generally end with the babyface getting the win, it's safe to say that the 16-time World Champion will adjust Triple H's attitude.
With no stipulations added to the bout, expect this to be a fun, enjoyable match with John Cena defeating Triple H.
Prediction: John Cena wins
#9 Brock Lesnar(C) Vs. Roman Reigns in a Steel Cage Match for the Universal Championship
In what was the most shocking moment of WrestleMania 34, Brock Lesnar retained the Universal Championship. Moreover, there are rumour doing the rounds that The Beast Incarnate had a verbal altercation with Vince McMahon backstage, with the Chairman not happy with the crowd reception to the main event.
This altercation, however, could influence the outcome of this match. Vince McMahon is of the belief that Roman Reigns' victory over Brock Lesnar should be met with a positive reception.
If that's the case, then The Big Dog could be on the verge of taming the Beast on April 27th, 2018. With a steel cage stipulation added to the match, there's a strong possibility that this will be violent. If you think that Brock Lesnar will easily retain his Championship, then you must wait and watch.
Prediction: Roman Reigns wins
#9 50-Men Royal Rumble Match
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be hosting the most celebrated matches in WWE's history. The promotion has announced that there will be a 50-Men Royal Rumble match and that is expected to headline the show.
Superstars like John Cena, The Undertaker, Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, Kurt Angle, and many more could be making their presence during this classic bout. This is the first time in history that there will be 50 men involved.
However, this match with so much history would only be fulfilling if it serves a purpose. A future championship opportunity could add a bit more edge to the match with tremendous investment from the fans.
Considering they would want the show to end on a happy note, it makes sense to have a crowd-favourite win the bout and with rumours of a Daniel Bryan win doing the rounds, it's safe to say that the audience will get their money's worth.
Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins
