Gunther is an Austrian professional wrestler who was born on August 20, 1987, in Vienna, Austria. A huge pro-wrestling fan since a young age, Gunther, whose real name is Walter Hahn, also played Football during his younger days as a goalkeeper. Eventually, he left football and made his professional wrestling debut in 2005 as Big Van Walter, the name he used for around nine years. He then went on to wrestle on the independent circuit of Japan and America, making a name for himself as one of the most feared indie wrestlers.
Eventually, his talent caught the eyes of WWE. In January 2019, he debuted at NXT UK and soon won the WWE United Kingdom Championship. Walter then started wrestling for NXT UK and held the title for a record 870 days. He was then renamed Gunther and called up to the main roster, where he won the WWE Intercontinental Championship. What finisher does Gunther use?
Gunther mainly uses the Knife Edge Chop, or simply The Chop, as his finishing move. While the move is a slap to the chest of the opponent, it is still one of the most feared moves in WWE at the moment. Gunther aims at the chest of the opponent with full force and dominates the ring. His other finisher, signature, and trademark moves include the Symphonie des Schmerzes. It involves Gunther lifting his opponent onto his shoulders and then falling forward, driving them back into the mat in a powerful folding powerbomb position.
