Haku, a name that strikes fear (or respect) in the hearts of wrestling fans, is a legend whose career spans decades and continents. Born Tonga ʻUliʻuli Fifita, this Tongan powerhouse carved a path of dominance in some of the biggest wrestling promotions worldwide. Haku's wrestling journey began early. He trained in the art of sumo before transitioning to professional wrestling. His competitive spirit and relentless intensity quickly became his trademarks. Nicknames like King Haku and Meng only amplified his aura of intimidation.
Haku's career highlights include successful stints in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). He was a force to be reckoned with in both singles and tag team competition. Fans remember Haku for his formidable tag teams, most notably The Islanders. While known for his brutal in-ring style, Haku was more than just a brawler. He possessed exceptional technical skills, honed from his sumo training and years of experience. He has had a pretty storied career and won a number of accolades all over the globe.

When did Haku win King of the Ring?
Haku actually never won the King of the Ring tournament throughout his career. However, he did get his hands at the crown in 1988. Harley Race was the second-ever winner of the King of the Ring tournament and he suffered an abdominal injury in 1988. His manager Bobby Heenan crowned Haku the King and he began calling him King Haku. Upon returning, Race demanded the crown back but lost to Haku at Royal Rumble 1989, where he continued being called King Haku.
