#1 Horror Movies come to WWE
Alexa Bliss has dressed as Freddy Kruger from a Nightmare on Elm Street on WWE TV, but who else has paid homage to horror movies of the past? Horror-inspired gimmicks are some of the most interesting within wrestling, with everyone from Finn Balor’s Demon King to Bray Wyatt’s The Fiend persona all creating new and exciting stories.
Shotzi Blackheart at WWE's take on Halloween Havoc 2020 wore many different horror-inspired looks, including an interesting take on the Bride of Frankenstein, a Devil and Elvira Mistress of Darkness. Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae embodied everyone’s favorite Halloween couple, Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Even Dakota Kai got in on the action this year, returning as the Grim Reaper to attack old friend Raquel Gonzalez while the superstars of NXT 2.0 celebrated with a costume party backstage.
The Riott Squad channeled some of their favorite horror movies at WWE Evolution, the first and only all women’s pay-per-view put on by the company. Ruby was dressed as Jigsaw from the SAW franchise, while Sarah Logan embraced her southern roots by embodying Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Liv Morgan went to Stephen King’s IT for inspiration, choosing to become a part of the Loser Club by wearing a red and white variation of her normal wrestling attire.
Just this week Liv Morgan showed off her Chucky, from the film Child's Play, inspired gear just in time for Halloween on WWE TV. She is one to watch when it comes to pop culture gear, previously transforming herself into Christina Aguilera from her Dirrrtty music video, Cher from Clueless, the character of Black Cat and even wearing half of a black and white pant suit alongside Ruby Riott in a homage to Beetlejuice. She has also channeled DX, NWO and Owen Hart.
