Has Triple H buried 34-year-old SmackDown Superstar on purpose? Exploring his WWE booking

Triple H and the WWE creative team saw Giovanni Vinci make his SmackDown debut a few weeks ago, but the result was quite disappointing for the 34-year-old superstar, who came up short against Apollo Crews in straight matches.

As a result, Giovanni Vinci continues to have no direction at the moment. There was speculation that there was internal heat, and Triple H sanctioned the former Imperium star. However, Fightful cited the lack of creative plans as the main reason for Giovanni Vinci's booking on the blue brand.

It has been a few weeks since the 34-year-old star appeared on SmackDown, and there is no update on when he could return to the blue brand.

However, if WWE wants to push him, they could link him to the Imperium again and have him go after Ludwig Kaiser in search of revenge after the latter assaulted him and kicked him out of the faction back in the spring.

WWE legend Booker T shared his thoughts on Giovanni Vinci's disappointing start on SmackDown. The WWE legend had high praise for the 34-year-old star's wrestling skills but opened up about what prevented him from getting a push early on.

Speaking at the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T said that Triple H's decision to transfer Giovanni Vinci to The Imperium didn't benefit the latter at all.

"I really think coming in with the Imperium kind of put him in that group thing, and it kind of maybe lost him in the shuffle a little bit. Because anytime you’re playing second to Gunther, you’re going to be playing second. You know what I mean? I just don’t think it was a good thing, him actually being a part of Imperium when he first came in… It’s just like Ludwig. That said, the question is what Triple H has in mind for Giovanni Vinci and whether he plans for him to go after Ludwig Kaiser and start a feud with him.
