Many have dubbed Drew McIntyre the most unfortunate WWE Champion in the history of the business because while his build to the WWE Championship was absolutely perfect, he won the title after defeating Brock Lesnar in an empty arena. Drew McIntyre did not even have the benefit of the ThunderDome when he won the WWE Championship, but all of that could change when the world normalizes again.
Drew McIntyre is pretty much guaranteed to get a title shot at some point down the line and it could happen when fans are back in the arena so that he gets the moment that he so rightfully deserves and having Randy Orton carry the Championship as a heel during the pandemic era makes sense, as a result. The world is bound to return to normal sooner or later, and Drew McIntyre could then revel in a chorus of cheers when he captures the WWE Championship in a symphony of 'you deserve it' chants.
